First of all every html5 document must begin with the a ‘<!DOCTYPE html>’ tag. Always add the HTML5 Doctype Tag First.

This is due to the browser needing a ‘<!DOCTYPE html>’ to identify the document as being a HTML5 document. Adding the ‘<!DOCTYPE html>’ tag is also known as ‘the doctype declaration‘.

The opening ‘<html>‘ and closing ‘</html>‘ tags should be added next.

The opening ‘<head>‘ and closing ‘<head>‘ tags can be added next. In-between the opening ‘<html>‘ and closing ‘</html>‘ tags.

Inside the opening ‘<head>‘ and closing ‘<head>‘ tags goes the opening ‘<title>‘ and closing ‘</title>‘ tags.

And now add a webpage title in-between the opening and closing ‘title‘ tags.

The ‘body‘ tags need to be inserted after the closing ‘head‘ tag.

Also inside the ‘body‘ tags is where all the webpage content is added.
Start with a heading, a paragraph, a hyperlink and an image.

Another consideration is the text encoding tag, ‘<meta charset=”utf-8″>, which belongs in the ‘head’ section of a html5 document. Between the ‘head‘ tags is where all the meta description tags belong and in the ‘body‘ is where all the page content tags belong. The ‘body‘ tags contains the code that is generated in the browser. The ‘head‘ tags contain the ‘meta‘ tags and the ‘title‘ tags.
